Please be aware of a new scam that is in the mail. A company by the name of Record Transfer Services out of Wilmington, Delaware is sending out ‘Deed Processing Notices’, requesting that you pay them up to $83.00 to obtain a copy of your current deed. Please do not respond to this notice. If you are in need of a copy of your current deed you can visit your local County office and they can print it off for you for a nominal fee.
These phony notices are very official-looking. Below is an example of this ‘Deed Processing Notice’ so that you can recognize it if you receive one.
Please see attached Deed Processing Notice that is being sent through the mail. Again, please do not respond to the mailed notice. This notice is a scam and should be disregarded.
